Subscription terms

Last updated: · Version 1.0

Provisional version. This text is not yet the final, validated version: passages still to be completed are highlighted. It will be replaced before the app is published.

In preparation. The Origins Club and the "Destins" extension are not yet offered in the app. This page describes the terms that will apply once they open. [REMOVE AT LAUNCH]

1. What you are buying

Origins Club: an auto-renewing subscription offered in two plans: monthly (a one-month period) and annual (a one-year period). Both give the same benefits while the subscription is active [TO CONFIRM: final list at launch]:

  • access to the catalog of available extensions (the "Destins" extension and those added to it);
  • new content published during your subscription;
  • no ads;
  • the unlimited archive of your lives and the share-card themes.

What exactly the Club includes is always shown in the app, before purchase. The Publisher only promises content that is already available when you subscribe; new content is a bonus, with no guaranteed schedule.

"Destins" extension: a one-time, permanent purchase (non-consumable), with no subscription, that unlocks three life paths [TO CONFIRM]. It stays yours after purchase, even if you are no longer a Club subscriber, and can be restored (Settings → Store → Restore purchases).

2. Price and billing

  • The price, in your currency and including taxes, is shown in the app and in the App Store before you confirm the purchase. The Publisher sets no price other than the one you see.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically, for the same duration and at the price then in force, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • Free trial: [TO CONFIRM: if a trial period is offered, for example 7 days on the annual plan]. The app then shows the trial length, the price that follows and the date the subscription becomes paid. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts. Apple allows one trial per account per subscription group.
  • Price changes: if the price changes, Apple informs you and, where the law or Apple requires it, asks for your consent; without consent, the subscription ends at the end of the period.
  • Switching from monthly to annual (or back): in your Apple subscription settings; Apple applies the change under its rules.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, at no cost, in your Apple account settings: iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Origins Club, or from the app (Settings → Store → Manage my subscription). Apple help: Cancel a subscription.

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid: you keep the benefits until then.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Deleting your Umare account does not either: only the App Store can cancel. Cancel before deleting your account.

4. Refunds and right of withdrawal

Payments and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund: reportaproblem.apple.com, then "Request a refund" (Apple help). The Publisher can neither refund nor cancel a payment made through the App Store, but can forward a legitimate request to Apple. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal, unless you asked for immediate access to the content and acknowledged losing that right at purchase, as Apple provides. [TO BE REVIEWED: who the seller is and the right of withdrawal for the subscription]

5. When the subscription ends

If the subscription ends (cancellation, payment failure, refund), you lose the Club benefits: access to catalog extensions other than the ones you bought, ad removal, and — under the rules shown in the app — display of the unlimited archive. Your games are never deleted and one-time purchases stay yours. You can resubscribe at any time.

6. Subscription and Umare account

The subscription is tied to your Apple account, not your Umare account: it works on Apple devices where the app is installed and where you are signed in with the same Apple account, with or without an Umare account. To get it back on another device: Settings → Store → Restore purchases. [TO CONFIRM: Family Sharing on or off]

7. If we stop the Club

If the Publisher stops the Club, it will tell you at least [TO CONFIRM: 30 days] in advance in the app and refund, through Apple, the unused part of the paid period. One-time purchases remain available.

8. Contact

Question about a subscription: support@umare.app (see the "Support and contact" page). These terms supplement Umare's terms of use and privacy policy, as well as Apple's terms.
